Sometimes, the projects that make the biggest difference start with a problem no one wants to have.
For DAVRON, that problem was a backed-up septic system.
What followed was more than a quick repair. It became a process involving cleanup, planning, engineering, coordination, and ultimately a significant upgrade to our property’s infrastructure.
Today, we’re happy to say that process is complete: DAVRON is officially off the septic system and connected to Pasco County Water.
From a Septic Problem to a Long-Term Solution
Anyone who has dealt with a septic system problem knows how quickly it can become disruptive.
Initially, our focus was straightforward: address the backed-up system and get things functioning properly again. But as the process unfolded, we had the opportunity to look beyond the immediate problem and work toward a more permanent solution.
That meant transitioning away from the existing septic system and completing the work necessary to connect our property to Pasco County’s utility infrastructure.
Pasco County maintains defined water and wastewater service areas throughout the county, including areas served by Pasco County Utilities and other providers.
It was a bigger undertaking, but one that made sense for the future.
A Project That Took Teamwork
Infrastructure projects rarely come down to one person, and this one was no exception.
There were different pieces to coordinate, problems to solve, and plenty of work that had to happen before we could finally say the project was complete.
We especially want to recognize our own Joey Honahan for his work throughout the process. Having someone internally who could help keep things moving and coordinate the different aspects of the project was invaluable.
We also want to thank Ace Septic & Waste, whose team helped us deal with the backed-up septic system and the work associated with moving away from it.
Finally, a big thank-you goes to Michael Hoffman, PE, with Advanced Engineering Consultants, LLC, for providing the professional engineering expertise needed to help move the project forward.
Pasco County’s development requirements underscore the importance of professional engineering in utility projects. County documentation specifies that applicable utility construction plans are to be signed and sealed by a Florida-registered engineer and designed in accordance with county standards and applicable Florida Department of Environmental Protection permitting criteria.
This project was truly a team effort, and we appreciate everyone who helped us get across the finish line.
Officially Connected to Pasco County Water
After all the cleanup, coordination, engineering, and construction work, reaching the point where we could finally say “we’re connected” was a major milestone.
Pasco County Utilities operates customer services for starting, stopping and transferring utility service and maintains utility service infrastructure throughout its service areas.
For DAVRON, the connection represents something much more tangible: one less aging system to worry about and an important infrastructure improvement to the property we use every day.
It also closes the book on what began as a pretty unpleasant septic problem.
Investing in the Places Where We Work
Not every important business investment is flashy.
Sometimes it’s underground.
Infrastructure improvements like this may never be the first thing customers or visitors notice, but they matter. Maintaining and improving the facilities where our team works is part of investing in DAVRON for the long term.
This project required time, patience, and the expertise of some great people, but the end result was worth it.
From cleaning out a backed-up septic system to officially connecting to Pasco County Water, it has been quite a process.
