Join a stable, highly respected precision CNC machine shop in Apopka, FL, just outside Orlando, as a CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer! This is an exciting opportunity to work in a clean, climate-controlled, low-stress environment producing tight-tolerance, low-volume components for industries such as aerospace, medical, and entertainment, where craftsmanship and independence are truly valued.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Lathe Machinist/Programmer position include:
- 7+ years of CNC lathe machining and programming experience in a job shop, prototype, or precision manufacturing environment.
- Program, set up, and run CNC lathes using G & M code at the machine, with Okuma control experience preferred.
- Independently take parts from blueprint to completion, including determining tooling, workholding, and machining strategy.
- Interpret blueprints and GD&T while holding very tight tolerances, typically around ±.0002.
- Perform in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring tools.
- Troubleshoot machining challenges and contribute to fixture design and process improvements as needed.
- Work with Okuma lathes with live tooling while being responsible for two machines.
- Bring your own tools, including micrometers, calipers, and hand tools; mill experience and CAMWorks familiarity are a plus.
Salary: $32 - $38 per hour, commensurate with experience.
