DAVRON fills 200 backpacks with 2,000 school supply items and donates $2,500 to Christian Social Services of Land O’ Lakes

School Supply Drive for Christian Social Services

DAVRON, a Land O’ Lakes based executive search and outplacement firm, recently hosted a back-to-school supply drive to benefit Christian Social Services (CSS). CSS is a non-profit organization that provides food, clothing, and other services to disadvantaged families in Pasco and northern Hillsborough counties. Jacquie Petet, the Executive Director of CSS reached out to DAVRON for help this year with the goal of filling 200 backpacks for local children in need. The team at DAVRON immediately accepted the challenge and began collecting the much-needed school supplies.

The drive was a huge success, with DAVRON and the community coming together to donate a variety of school supplies to help local children in need.  As the drive came to a close, the final quantities of donations were tallied, and DAVRON was able to exceed that goal by collecting over 2,000 individual items.  The donated school supplies included everything from pencils and paper to backpacks and calculators.

The Back-to-School Drive for CSS has become an annual tradition for DAVRON and its employees.  Just one example of the company’s ongoing mission to give back to the Pasco community. “We are proud to be able to support Christian Social Services and the important work they do,” said David Coreen, President of DAVRON. “We know that these donations will make a real difference in the lives of children in Pasco.”

If would like to help support Christian Social Services, there are various ways to do so.  You can donate school supplies, food pantry items, or make financial contributions to the Christian Social Services website at www.css-helpinghands.org.  You can also volunteer your time to help CSS provide aid to families in need.  The CSS thrift store and food pantry rely on the generosity of local churches and private donors. Donations are currently accepted on Tuesdays through Fridays, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
