Description
A Steel Fabrication Estimator / Detailer is needed in Kokomo, IN for an established custom steel fabrication operation offering steady work, specialized projects, and room for long-term growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong drawing, estimating, and detailing skills to join a team serving industrial and manufacturing clients.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Steel Fabrication Estimator / Detailer position include:
- 3–5 years of experience reading drawings, blueprints, specs, and scopes of work; steel fabrication experience is preferred but not required
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; SolidWorks experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand fabrication requirements and material needs
- Perform material takeoffs from customer drawings and specifications to support accurate pricing
- Work with leadership to estimate labor requirements using established company standards
- Prepare details and shop fabrication drawings as needed for custom steel fabrication projects
- Collaborate with purchasing, the VP of Operations, and other internal team members throughout the estimating and order process
- Ability to work in-office in Kokomo, IN, with relocation considered on a case-by-case basis
Salary: $90,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including 401(k) with 3% profit sharing, two weeks of vacation, paid holidays, life insurance, health insurance through Anthem with 80% employer coverage, annual performance-based incentive bonus typically ranging from $3,000 to $7,000, and possible signing bonus or relocation assistance considered on a case-by-case basis.
