Description
A growing specialty construction contractor is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in Albuquerque, NM! This is an exciting opportunity to join a tight-knit, employee-focused company with strong growth opportunities, a collaborative culture, and an expanding mechanical division supporting HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented estimating professional who enjoys bid strategy, cost forecasting, and supporting projects from conceptual estimate through negotiated work and change proposals.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Estimator position include:
- 3+ years of estimating experience within plumbing, mechanical, or HVAC construction environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of plumbing, mechanical, and HVAC systems required
- Ability to read and interpret specifications, construction drawings, scopes, and vendor/subcontractor proposals
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; trade school, technical training, or relevant field experience may substitute
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required, including Excel, Outlook, and Word; Trimble Autobid Sheet Metal, Trimble Autobid Plumbing, and Procore experience preferred
- Manage plan and specification estimating activities to support profitability and company goals
- Prepare conceptual estimates, negotiated work pricing, change proposals, change orders, and cost estimates
- Support bid leveling, subcontractor/vendor scope review, pricing validation, and communication with Business Development, Area Managers, and leadership
Salary: $75,000 - $100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
