Description
A full-service defense engineering and manufacturing company in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a CNC Programmer to join its precision manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-tolerance parts for aircraft and submarines while joining a strong, team-oriented shop culture that is investing in new large 5-axis high-performance machining equipment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CNC Programmer position include:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC programming and operating experience, with 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling experience required
- Mastercam proficiency is required, with strong knowledge of G-code and M-code programming
- Develop, write, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced CNC programs for precision manufacturing
- Determine machining strategies, tooling, feeds, speeds, fixtures, and part-holding methods for complex parts
- Work with materials including aluminum, titanium, steel, composites, Inconel, and other specialty alloys
- Read engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T while maintaining tolerances within .001
- Collaborate with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to support AS9100 and ISO compliance standards
- U.S. citizenship required, with defense manufacturing experience, Vericut knowledge, and strong shop-floor communication skills preferred
Salary: $80,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
