80 Backpacks, School Supplies and $1,550 raised for Christian Social Services of Land O Lakes
DAVRON, a Land O’ Lakes based executive search and outplacement firm, hosted a school supply drive to benefit Christian Social Services (CSS) in June. CSS is a non-profit organization that supports the Pasco County area, with most of the help requested by families and single mothers. The CSS thrift store and food pantry is filled with donations from local churches and private contributors. They are currently accepting donation Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
DAVRON reached out to Jacquie Petet, the Executive Director of CSS to see how they could help. She expressed their most urgent need was for school supplies and backpacks, because schools are returning to in person learning this upcoming school year, and they are expecting to help hundreds of families. CSS provides each student with a backpack, school supplies, and 20$ towards their thrift store for back to school clothing.
With the help of the community and The Laker’s readers, DAVRON was able to present CSS with 80 brand new backpacks and tons of school supply items. In addition, DAVRON’s employees contributed $1,550 to the organization from their “Charity Challenge Fishing Tournament”, where they reeled in 155 fish on June 25, 2021.
Thank you to Hungry Harry’s, Aroma Joe’s, Sweet Frog, The Flying Squirrel, Land O’ Lakes Family Fitness, Station House BBQ, and all the private donors to make this drive a success!
