186 Backpacks, School Supplies and $1,860 donated to Christian Social Services of Land O’ Lakes

DAVRON, a Land O’ Lakes based executive search and outplacement firm, hosted a school supply drive to benefit Christian Social Services (CSS) in July. CSS is a non-profit organization that supports the Pasco County area, with most of the help requested by families and single mothers. The CSS thrift store and food pantry is filled with donations from local churches and private contributors. They are currently accepting donation Tuesdays – Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Jacquie Petet, the Executive Director of CSS reached out to DAVRON this year to advise they were looking to help approximately 100 families for back-to-school needs. The team at DAVRON immediately accepted the challenge and got to work collecting backpacks and supplies. In just three short weeks, the community and DAVRON collected 186 backpacks and tons of school supplies. On August 2, 2022, DAVRON took the donation to CSS and pledged $10 per backpack donated. DAVRON presented a check for $1,860.00.

CSS informed DAVRON they are in need of food to fill the pantry. The money donated will help with the food pantry shortage. With the growing cost of inflation and the need of more families seeking help, the pantry is unable to keep up. If you would like to help out our community, CSS is seeking canned items, spaghetti sauce, soup, beans, peanut butter, jelly, cereal, and macaroni & cheese.

Thank you to Hungry Harry’s, Sweet Frog, and The Flying Squirrel, and all the private donors for making this back-to-school drive a huge success for 2022!
