Join a well-established engineering consulting environment as a Structural Designer in Reading, Pennsylvania, where you will help shape impactful municipal water/wastewater, industrial, and building renovation projects. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced designer who enjoys heavy concrete and structural steel work, values cross-disciplinary collaboration, and wants room for long-term growth and leadership within a flexible, supportive team.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Structural Designer position include:
- Technical Trade School or Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Drafting & Design Technology, or a related field preferred
- Experience working within an engineering consulting environment or exposure to consulting projects is strongly preferred
- 10–15 years of experience in heavy industrial work, including concrete and steel
- Proficiency with computer-aided design software, including AutoCAD; Revit is a plus
- Prepare design, detail, and construction drawings in accordance with company standards
- Develop layouts, determine detailed dimensions, and verify clearances
- Coordinate structural design and drafting with engineering and architectural disciplines to avoid conflicts and interferences
- Review vendor information and structural shop drawings, and make necessary updates to design drawings
- Perform field observation, obtain dimensions for design projects, and produce record drawings as needed
Salary: $75,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
