Description
Advanced manufacturing automation is taking off in Houston, with hands-on projects ranging from assembly and testing machines to laser and robotic systems. In this Mechanical Design Engineer opportunity, you’ll help develop and improve the mechanical side of complex equipment that delivers quality, performance, and reliable system integration.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Design Engineer position include:
- 5+ years of experience designing automation equipment.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or AutoCAD).
- Design and develop mechanical systems for automation equipment, including 3D modeling and drawing creation for new equipment.
- Improve existing products through design changes and optimization to enhance performance.
- Collaborate with electrical/electronic and software engineers to integrate and optimize the overall system.
- Review design drawings, analyze simulation results, and manage design changes.
- Support manufacturing by coordinating mechanical issues during production and providing drawings and technical documents.
- Lead on-site installation, alignment, and commissioning at customer sites in Houston, including root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
Salary: $120,000 - $130,000 per year, can go higher for an all-star.
