Bring your refrigeration and maintenance expertise to a fast-paced, FDA-regulated food-production commissary in Hyattsville, where your troubleshooting skills directly keep production moving. This Maintenance Technician / Industrial Refrigeration Technician opportunity offers a stable Monday–Friday schedule and the chance to own a newly established maintenance function in a company that supports a chain of 30+ restaurants.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Maintenance Technician / Industrial Refrigeration Technician position include:
- Approximately 3–5 years of industrial maintenance, commercial refrigeration, food-equipment maintenance, or related experience
- Strong refrigeration troubleshooting ability, including diagnosing and repairing walk-in coolers, a walk-in freezer, and blast freezers
- Perform preventive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and repairs, and maintain maintenance schedules and service logs
- Support facility upkeep and coordinate with outside contractors when specialized assistance is needed
- Comfort learning unfamiliar food-processing and production equipment as needed
- Experience maintaining food-manufacturing, food-processing, commercial kitchen, or similar production environments strongly preferred
- Target candidates with an EPA Section 608 Universal Certification (Type II may be considered if it covers the facility’s equipment)
- Maryland HVACR licensure preferred (not expected to be required for routine in-house maintenance)
Salary: $32–$40/hour, based on experience; overtime paid when applicable.
