An innovative maritime robotics company in San Diego, CA is seeking a Head of Electronics Engineering to lead and grow its electronics engineering team in a hands-on, high-impact leadership role. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of autonomous surface vessels that operate at sea for months at a time, influencing strategy, production, and engineering execution at a fast-growing market leader.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Head of Electronics Engineering position include:
- Background in electrical or electronics engineering with hands-on design and build experience
- 3+ years of experience managing and developing engineers, including hiring, performance management, onboarding, and career growth
- Lead electronics programs from early development through production and sustained deployment
- Manage and mentor the electronics engineering team while setting goals, priorities, and expectations
- Own schedules, scope, delivery, and outcomes for all electronics programs
- Lead design reviews and readiness reviews to ensure quality, reliability, and manufacturability
- Partner with production, QA, vendors, and suppliers to support smooth transitions into manufacturing
- Ability to obtain a security clearance and work in a fast-moving, in-office hardware-focused environment
Salary: $160,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
