This exciting Director of Operations (Commercial Flooring) opportunity is located in Grand Prairie, TX, in the heart of the DFW market. This growing commercial flooring subcontractor has built an outstanding reputation since 2009, recently expanded into a larger facility, and offers a rare chance to join a low-turnover, people-focused team with strong leadership, major contracts in the pipeline, and future growth potential.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Director of Operations (Commercial Flooring) position include:
- Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive leadership experience in commercial flooring, specialty subcontracting, or commercial construction operations.
- Strong understanding of commercial flooring systems, construction scheduling, labor management, project controls, and field operations.
- Lead operational execution of commercial flooring projects, including carpet, tile, and VCT installations for data centers, hospitals, grocery stores, airports, and other commercial facilities.
- Oversee project management teams, field supervision, scheduling, labor coordination, logistics, and installation operations.
- Monitor budgets, schedules, manpower utilization, productivity, gross margin, project profitability, and operational performance.
- Collaborate with sales, estimating, project management, warehouse/logistics, accounting, and executive leadership teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Recruit, mentor, develop, and manage operational leadership personnel while supporting succession planning and team development.
- Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.
Salary: $150,000 - $200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
