This Land Surveyor Party Chief/ Survey Crew Chief role in Plainview, NY offers fully onsite work with hands-on leadership, real field impact, and the chance to grow with a recognized New York surveying and engineering firm.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Land Surveyor Party Chief/ Survey Crew Chief position include:
- 2+ years of Land Surveying/Party Chief experience required; 5+ years sought (prior crew chief experience preferred)
- Lead daily survey field operations across primary control, construction layout, and as-built projects
- Determine the most efficient plan of action for data acquisition for field surveys
- Proficient with documentation of work performed and sketches
- Communicate daily with the Project Surveyor and technician regarding schedules and work progress
- Read and interpret construction drawings/specifications, including tolerances
- Prepare daily reports, time sheets, and required paperwork; maintain surveying vehicle and field equipment
- Operate total stations, GNSS receivers, data collectors, and tablet PCs (Trimble experience preferred); maintain a valid driver’s license and ability to work in all weather while carrying up to 80 lbs
Salary: $25.00 - $65.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and licensure
