Description

A highly specialized crane service company is seeking a Crane Technician in the Washington, DC region! This is an exciting opportunity to join a mission-critical team supporting high-compliance crane systems for Department of Defense, Navy, Marine Corps, and federal facilities, with extensive paid training, OEM schooling, certifications, and long-term career growth. This role is ideal for an industrial service technician, electrician, elevator mechanic, or mechanically minded tradesperson ready to transition into the crane industry and build a stable career close to home.

Qualifications and responsibilities for this Crane Technician position include:

  • Experience as a crane technician, industrial service technician, maintenance technician, industrial electrician, elevator mechanic, controls technician, millwright, or heavy equipment technician preferred.
  • Perform crane inspections, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs at military bases and mission-critical federal sites throughout the DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland region.
  • Strong aptitude with mechanical systems, 3-phase electrical troubleshooting, motor controls, VFDs, PLCs, industrial control panels, or field service work is highly valued.
  • Participate in extensive training during the first 90 days and beyond, including OEM schools, industry certifications, Navy-specific certifications, ANST/non-destructive testing, and potential Class A CDL training.
  • Report to base laydown areas, pick up a service truck, and complete daily crane service, inspection, and maintenance assignments.
  • Must be able to pass background checks required for base access, with no felonies.
  • Support a team that services approximately 1,000 cranes while working a consistent schedule and returning home every night.
  • Trade school graduates, early-career technicians, and experienced industrial tradespeople are encouraged to apply.

Salary: $35 - $55 per hour, commensurate with experience.
