This Subsurface Utility Engineer/Civil P.E. opportunity is based in Spring Branch, TX, and offers the chance to take on a key leadership role in a growing department while working on specialized subsurface utility projects with a flexible growth path, flat organization, and strong commitment to employee care.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Subsurface Utility Engineer/Civil P.E. position include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field and active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing
• Experience in Subsurface Utility Engineering, utility coordination, or related civil/utility engineering roles with strong knowledge of underground utility systems
• Review, approve, and seal S.U.E. deliverables including utility maps, conflict reports, and mitigation recommendations
• Ensure deliverables meet ASCE 38-22 standards and applicable client specifications, with TxDOT S.U.E. requirements preferred
• Provide QA/QC oversight and engineering judgment on survey data, geophysical test results, and utility records research
• Collaborate with project managers, field crews, survey teams, drafters, and design engineers to support accurate project execution
• Support project scopes, estimates, and proposals while mentoring junior engineers and technicians in S.U.E. best practices
• Use AutoCAD and Civil 3D to assist with project delivery, utility mapping, and technical coordination
Salary: $100,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
