Qualifications and responsibilities for this Applications Engineer position include:
- Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related technical field required; Bachelor’s degree preferred, with equivalent industry experience considered.
- Experience in precision machining or manufacturing environments, with familiarity in ISO 13485 quality systems and regulated manufacturing settings.
- Advanced blueprint reading skills including GD&T interpretation, along with knowledge of medical device materials and secondary processes such as heat treatment, passivation, electropolishing, coatings, and stress relieving.
- Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, outside services, ERP systems, Microsoft Office, and CAD or SolidWorks experience being beneficial.
- Review customer drawings, specifications, and technical documentation to determine manufacturing requirements and support accurate costing and process planning.
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations for materials, labor, manufacturing processes, and outside services while evaluating manufacturability and identifying risks.
- Support Sales, Engineering, Operations, Purchasing, and Quality teams by coordinating awarded quotations into order entry, production planning, and technical discussions.
- Communicate with customers and suppliers regarding technical questions, quotation follow-up, manufacturing capabilities, and related project support while managing multiple priorities effectively.
Salary: $40 - $45 per hour, commensurate with experience.
