Bring your drafting skills to a manufacturing environment where precision engineering meets real-world impact in northwestern Allegheny County. This Mechanical Drafter opportunity gives you the chance to build accurate 2D/3D drawings, collaborate with experienced team members, and support production-ready documentation from day one.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Mechanical Drafter position include:
- Entry-level opportunity open to recent college or technical-school graduates (with drafting exposure) and candidates with at least two years of drafting experience/training.
- Experience using AutoCAD and SolidWorks (current versions).
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings/blueprints.
- Draft and revise 2D and 3D mechanical drawings, including detail, assembly, layout, schematic and diagram (electrical and fluid power), sales, parts list, catalog, fixture, and piping.
- Create 3D models and 3D assemblies in SolidWorks.
- Convert manual drawings into electronic CAD files and document measurement/observations from the production area as needed.
- Research SAP for BOM components, compile drawing data, and compare SolidWorks BOMs with SAP BOMs for accuracy.
- Convert 3D models to .STL files for additive manufacturing and assist with loading/unloading 3D printers.
Salary: $24 per hour
Benefits: Regular health benefits are offered, including medical options with multiple tiers and dependent/family coverage, plus vision and dental options. The role also includes paid holidays and PTO (10 days in the first year, 15 days in the second year, and 18 days starting on the third year), tuition reimbursement, and 401(k) eligibility after 6 months with a 3% match plus an additional contribution tied to an extra 2% employee contribution.
