Description
Bring your hands-on machining leadership to a fast-moving aerospace and defense shop in Perris, CA, where complex thin-wall aluminum work and 24/7 operations demand real ownership and fast, measurable improvements. In this Machine Shop Manager opportunity, you’ll lead day-to-night CNC teams and drive safety, quality, on-time delivery, cost, staffing, KPIs, capacity, and continuous improvement in an AS9100-certified environment.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Machine Shop Manager position include:
- 10+ years of CNC machining experience in aerospace or defense, including 5+ years in a supervisory or management role.
- Hands-on experience with 5-axis machining of aluminum aerospace structures (thin-wall, contoured, large-envelope parts).
- JobBOSS ERP experience is a must; ERP/MRP proficiency required.
- Proficiency with Fanuc-controlled machining centers, including G-code, macros, and control-level troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of CAM/model-based programs such as Mastercam, NX, CATIA, or equivalent.
- Expert blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge (ASME Y14.5), with AS9100 environment experience.
- Oversee daily machine shop operations, including scheduling, production flow, and personnel management across shifts.
- Own KPIs and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with safety and quality requirements (including root-cause/corrective action and support for audits/FAIs).
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000 per year, DOE, commensurate with experience.
