Qualifications and responsibilities for this Test Operations Technician position include:
- 2+ years of hands-on technical experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, field service, or testing environment, with strong electromechanical aptitude and proficiency using technical tools.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, assembly documentation, and technical procedures, with experience troubleshooting electromechanical actuation systems.
- Prepare, configure, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot robotic systems, test fixtures, and laboratory equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Execute acceptance testing, hardware validation, and software release testing on robotic subassemblies and complete systems, documenting results and troubleshooting failures.
- Manage daily laboratory operations, including equipment organization, inventory tracking, preventive maintenance, cleaning, and operational efficiency improvements.
- Handle live and dead fish during testing operations, including intake, storage, preparation, processing, inventory management, and post-test cleanup.
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work safely in wet, cold, noisy, and physically demanding environments, with occasional travel to docks and commercial fishing vessels.
- Experience with robotics, automation, electrical wiring, sensors, motors, Linux command-line tools, firmware deployment, hydraulics, or aquaculture environments is a plus.
Salary: $30 - $40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
