Bring your mechanical design expertise to an established automation and robotics environment in Traverse City, where hands-on engineering work and a collaborative culture help projects move from concept to build. In this Sr. Mechanical Designer (Automation/Robotics) opportunity, you’ll design industrial automation equipment that meets performance, safety, and customer requirements.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Sr. Mechanical Designer (Automation/Robotics) position include:
- 10+ years of experience in the manufacturing space with automation and robotics experience.
- Create detailed technical drawings and CAD models for industrial automation equipment.
- Develop design concepts and perform engineering calculations.
- Collaborate with project engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver designs that meet requirements.
- Review and update documentation as projects progress.
- Support prototype builds and participate in design reviews.
- Provide guidance to junior designers and help resolve design issues during manufacturing and installation.
- Use CAD tools proficiently, including SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Salary: $90k-$130k per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: MDV through Aetna (covering 80% of medical), 401k with 50% of the first 6%, and PTO of 96 hours (negotiable).
