This General Manager / Chief Estimator position is a confidential, immediate search for a hands-on leader who can personally estimate and run day-to-day operations with confidence and discipline.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this General Manager - Electrical Contracting position include:
- Prior IBEW/union electrical management experience, with the ability to personally estimate and price electrical work.
- Demonstrated ability to personally build and price winning commercial/industrial hard-bid and design-build estimates; candidates who only supervise estimating teams are not a fit.
- Personally estimate, price, and lead bids for commercial and industrial electrical projects.
- Build and maintain a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Lead estimating strategy, pricing standards, bid review, and work selection, owning margin outcomes and bid/no-bid discipline.
- Own day-to-day operational leadership, including project execution, staffing, WIP, job-cost tracking, labor productivity, and margin protection.
- Lead and hold the existing team accountable to company standards and operating results, including mentoring internal estimating talent.
- Partner with ownership and finance on operational profitability, cash flow, budgets, and performance; maintain key customer and general-contractor relationships at the operational level.
Salary: $165,000 - $185,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
