Build your future with a respected structural steel fabricator and erector based in Winter Springs, FL, serving Central Florida with decades of craftsmanship and long-term stability. This Structural Steel Estimator opportunity is a hands-on, detail-driven role supporting steel, miscellaneous/ornamental metal, and furnish-only scopes—helping turn the bid pipeline into winning projects.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Structural Steel Estimator position include:
- 2+ years of experience, prior structural-steel or miscellaneous-metal estimating experience is preferred, not required.
- Strong reading of construction drawings and specifications; comfort with dimensions, weights, and geometry.
- Solid math and spreadsheet skills (Excel); organized, accurate, and deadline-driven.
- Accurate material and labor take-offs from contract drawings, specifications, and shop details.
- Quantify weights, lengths, piece counts, and fabrication operations (cutting, fitting, welding, coating) to build reliable cost bases.
- Price scope appropriately by identifying furnish-only vs. fabricate-and-erect work.
- Solicit and log supplier and subcontractor quotes, then compile take-offs, quotes, labor, and markups into organized estimates for review.
- Maintain organized bid files and support estimate-to-project handoff with clear documentation of assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions.
Salary: $65,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
