This Structural Department Manager opportunity will help lead a diverse portfolio with a strong focus on vertical commercial, industrial, municipal, and aviation structures—plus meaningful support of major airport-related work in the Denver area.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Structural Department Manager position include:
- 15+ years of structural engineering experience, including 5+ years of project management and department/team leadership
- PE required; Colorado PE or ability to obtain reciprocity preferred (SE is a strong plus)
- Active-airport experience essential; DEN experience strongly preferred (Colorado knowledge plus comparable airport experience may be considered)
- Strong steel, concrete, and masonry design background (not bridge, residential, or multifamily-focused)
- Proficiency with structural design tools including RAM, RISA3D, ENERCALC, TEDDS, Revit, and comparable software
- Serve as the active Structural Engineer of Record while overseeing technical quality, constructability/QC reviews, staffing, utilization, budgets, billing, AR, margins, and department profitability
- Own financial performance and profitability; manage budgets, staffing plans, utilization targets, and billing/AR/margin protection
- Strengthen client relationships and support proposal preparation and fee negotiation to maintain and expand existing workload
Salary: $130,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
