Description
Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer PE in the western Chicago area is an exciting opportunity to join a long-established commercial and industrial HVAC contractor known for delivering highly customized mechanical solutions on complex construction and service projects. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior HVAC Mechanical Engineer PE position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or MEP and active Illinois PE license required
- 7+ years of experience required, with 10+ years preferred in commercial HVAC, ductwork, piping, and mechanical systems design
- Proficiency in HAP, E20, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite required; BIM coordination experience preferred
- Develop, review, approve, and certify mechanical system designs, engineering drawings, specifications, and calculations
- Conduct system load analyses, equipment selections, and energy performance evaluations
- Oversee projects from concept through construction completion while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams
- Perform field inspections and provide technical support during construction and commissioning
- Ensure designs comply with state and local building codes, ASHRAE, IMC, and NFPA standards while mentoring junior engineering staff
Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
