Description
DAVRON is seeking a highly experienced CPA or forensic accounting professional to lead a major historical accounting reconstruction and revenue recognition remediation project at our corporate office in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.
This is not a bookkeeping, accounts payable, or routine accounting role.
We are seeking a senior-level accounting professional with strong audit, forensic accounting, or accounting remediation experience who can roll up their sleeves and reconstruct historical financial activity from source documentation including bank statements, invoices, contracts, payment histories, and accounting records.
This position is fully in-person at DAVRON headquarters and is expected to begin as a minimum three-month contract engagement, with strong potential to evolve into a permanent long-term role for the right individual.
About the Project
DAVRON historically utilized billing structures that generated invoices upfront for long-term agreements. As business circumstances changed during contract periods, certain future invoices may no longer have been collectible or contractually due.
We are seeking an experienced accounting professional to:
- Reconstruct historical accounting records
- Analyze revenue recognition timing and treatment
- Review historical receivables and invoice activity
- Validate financial accuracy against economic reality
- Reconcile accounting records against bank statements and source documentation
- Identify and correct misclassifications, overstated receivables, understated liabilities, or improperly recognized revenue
- Improve accounting controls and standard operating procedures moving forward
The project will initially focus on 2024 and 2025 financial activity, with potential expansion into prior years as needed.
Responsibilities
- Reconstruct and validate historical accounting records within QuickBooks
- Analyze historical billing practices and revenue recognition treatment
- Review invoices, collections, cancellations, contracts, and payment histories
- Reconcile accounting records against bank statements and financial activity
- Identify accounting inconsistencies and recommend corrective actions
- Work directly with company leadership on accounting remediation efforts
- Establish improved accounting procedures, controls, and workflows
- Assist in creating more accurate recurring billing and cancellation handling processes moving forward
- Ensure accounting records are properly supportable and audit-ready
Requirements
- Active CPA license strongly preferred
- Significant experience in audit, forensic accounting, accounting remediation, or financial reconstruction
- Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles
- Advanced QuickBooks expertise required
- Experience reconstructing books from incomplete or imperfect historical records
- Strong bank reconciliation and investigative accounting skills
- Ability to identify accounting misclassifications and historical inaccuracies
- Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and methodical
- Comfortable working independently on complex accounting problems
- Must be willing to work on-site at DAVRON headquarters in Land O’ Lakes, Florida
