Description
A fast-growing, institutionally backed platform is modernizing the manufactured home inspection and certification process nationwide, creating an exciting opportunity for a Head of Engineering in a fully remote role, with Michigan preferred. This is a rare chance for a PE-licensed Civil or Structural Engineer to build the engineering function from the ground up, support HUD/manufactured housing compliance, partner closely with inspectors, and step into a high-impact leadership seat with equity upside.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Head of Engineering position include:
- Active PE license required in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- 5–10 years of post-graduation experience preferred, with strong project management and client-facing experience.
- Background with a private engineering firm preferred; government agency experience is not a fit.
- Lead engineering and inspector support for manufactured home inspections and certifications.
- Review inspection reports, follow up with inspectors on corrections, and apply PE stamp when complete.
- Provide real-time technical guidance to inspectors regarding HUD guidelines, site-specific questions, and certification requirements.
- Help develop engineering processes, workflows, and inspector education resources as the company scales nationally.
Salary: $150,000 - $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
