Bring your industrial maintenance expertise to a mission-critical, 24/365 commercial operation in Far Rockaway, NY—where preventive maintenance, hands-on troubleshooting, and team leadership directly impact equipment uptime and customer service. In this Head Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Supervisor opportunity, you’ll lead a small team and help build formal PM programs aligned to OEM schedules.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Head Industrial Mechanic/Maintenance Supervisor position include:
- 5+ years leading teams in Facilities Maintenance, industrial maintenance
- Develops and maintains Preventive Maintenance (PM) records and inspections, noting defects and deficiencies and tagging defective equipment for non-use when necessary
- Collaborates with the Director of Operations to develop a PM schedule aligned with customer requirements based on OEM weekly, monthly, and quarterly PM schedules
- Proficient in troubleshooting electrical, electronic and pneumatic controls; rebuild pumps, valves, regulators; strong understanding of steam and/or thermal oil systems
- Experience sweating and soldering joints, including solder repairs on leaking plumbing lines
- Ability to repair, modify, and rebuild commercial laundry equipment (Milnor washers and dryers, Jensen irons and towel/blanket folders, high speed sealers, Eastey L-Bar sealers)
- Can read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams and use testing equipment to troubleshoot equipment and systems to the board level; good understanding of electrical circuitry
- Maintains parts inventory for facility equipment based on OEM recommendations
Salary: $150,000-$200,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
