Step into a specialized film processing and post-production environment where your mechanical and electrical expertise will directly impact daily production and high-stakes deliverables in Burbank. In this Film Lab, Chief Mechanical Engineer opportunity, you’ll lead a technical team, troubleshoot custom production machinery, and help keep critical lab systems running smoothly.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Film Lab, Chief Mechanical Engineer position include:
- 10+ years of mechanical/electrical engineering experience, with demonstrated leadership and complex project execution
- Manage and guide approximately 4-5 direct reports across chemical systems, HVAC, dryers, and film development
- Troubleshoot custom production machinery, film dryers/developers, rooftop cooling equipment, HVAC, humidifiers, and heaters
- Lead mechanical design initiatives, including layouts, drawings, pumps/motors, and electrical components
- Understand and support custom machining, welding, and fabrication to make replacement parts or stabilize equipment
- Oversee equipment rebuilding and calibration; maintain repair records and parts inventory; support photochemical resource recovery
- Enforce safe work practices, including lockout-tagout, PPE requirements, confined space safety, safe chemical handling, and fall restraints
- Work onsite in Burbank, typically Monday-Friday 6:00 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Salary: $135,000 - $175,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
