Description
Bring your CAD and millwork expertise to a hands-on, fully on-site role in Rochester, NY where you’ll help bring cabinet and millwork projects to life from shop drawings through approval. This CAD Engineer opportunity offers a collaborative, three-person team environment and the chance to work on meaningful commercial manufacturing work with strong retention and regular team lunches.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CAD Engineer position include:
- Experience in a commercial manufacturing environment, woodworking preferred
- Able to read and understand architectural drawings as the basis for shop drawings
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, with Microvellum preferred
- Drafting skills to prepare detailed, organized, properly scaled and annotated drawings
- Knowledge of architectural millwork raw materials
- Review job orders and specifications, including architectural drawings and specs, time schedules, field measurements, and materials
- Create (engineer) shop drawings for client approval and prepare submittal packages
- Implement changes for field dimensions and change orders, and release fabrication packages once drawings are approved
Salary: $25–$30/hour
Benefits: 50% employer-paid medical, 401(k), PTO, and paid holidays.
