Development Engineer / Design Engineer position in Hauppauge, NY, transitioning to Melville, NY next quarter! Qualifications and responsibilities for this Development Engineer / Design Engineer position include:
- 5+ years of relevant product development or engineering experience, with a Mechanical Engineering degree preferred.
- Daily SolidWorks expertise with the ability to create production-ready designs, technical drawings, BOMs, dielines, and ERP documentation.
- Experience designing products for high-volume manufacturing environments with strong design-for-manufacturability principles.
- Injection molding experience is highly preferred, including plastic part design, tooling considerations, production launch support, and design optimization.
- Translate sketches, renderings, and concepts into technical drawings suitable for prototyping, costing, and production.
- Support retail display and fixture projects from concept through manufacturing while collaborating with creative design, project management, suppliers, and international engineering teams.
- Conduct DFM reviews, prototype development, product testing, production sample approvals, and design validation.
- Sheet metal, thermoplastics, POS, retail display, store fixture, ERP, Illustrator, and project management experience are preferred.
Salary: $70,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
