An established residential surveying company supporting homebuilding and disaster recovery projects across multiple states is hiring Survey Party Chiefs in North Florida, between Gainesville and Tallahassee, FL! Qualifications and responsibilities for this Survey Party Chief position include:
- Minimum 3–4 years of hands-on land surveying experience, with a strong background in residential surveying and homebuilding projects.
- Proven ability to independently manage field assignments, lead survey crews, and supervise an instrument technician when working on a two-person crew.
- Proficiency with GPS surveying equipment and total stations; familiarity with Carlson surveying software is a plus but not required.
- Perform residential boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and construction staking for homebuilding and rebuilding projects.
- Collect accurate field measurements, document survey data, and coordinate daily assignments with field leadership to meet project deadlines.
- Work independently or as part of a two-person crew while maintaining company-provided surveying equipment and vehicles.
- Possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record suitable for operating a company vehicle.
- Ability to accommodate substantial overtime, work two Saturdays per month, and occasionally travel to other service areas.
Salary: $25 - $35 per hour, commensurate with experience, plus substantial overtime opportunities. A minimum of 40 hours per week is guaranteed if workloads slow down.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with a previously reported 4% company match after six months, approximately five prorated PTO days annually, seven paid holidays, a company-provided vehicle and surveying equipment, home dispatch, per diem for travel assignments, and potential scheduling flexibility. Insurance eligibility was previously reported to begin the first of the month after 30 days of employment. PTO may be negotiable, and benefit details are subject to confirmation.
