Build your future with a fast-moving residential construction and land development team in Rockford, where you’ll help deliver new home communities, manage development through closeout, and represent the company in front of city and county partners. In this Construction & Development Manager opportunity, you’ll serve as the right-hand—coordinating projects from early planning through construction and final handoff while keeping work moving across the team and the field.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Construction & Development Manager position include:
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in residential construction, land development, or a closely related field.
- Manage or support single-family homebuilding projects from early planning or development through construction and closeout.
- Coordinate with city and county staff on subdivisions, permits, approvals, and related development processes.
- Represent the company at municipal and public meetings, including comfortable group presentation (including council meetings).
- Understand grading, drainage, and water flow as they relate to development and construction.
- Support new home construction; potentially support apartment development as projects expand.
- Contribute to project drafting and plan revisions if qualified (Chief Architect experience is a plus; CAD/Revit are transferable).
- Maintain a pool of subcontractors and help find appropriate contractors as project needs arise.
Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Year-end profit-sharing bonus; 401(k) match of 4%, plus 50% match on the next 2%; typically two weeks of vacation to start (negotiable); company phone and use of a fleet truck; open to relocation with possible relocation cost help; no medical coverage; no visa sponsorship.
