Bring your structural design expertise to a collaborative, in-office engineering firm in Nyack, NY serving a wide range of building types across the New York metro area. This Senior Structural Engineer opportunity offers hands-on project ownership, direct client coordination, and the chance to mentor junior staff while staying deeply involved in calculations and structural system design.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Structural Engineer position include:
- 4–15+ years of professional structural engineering experience focused primarily on building structures.
- New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license, or an EIT close to obtaining PE (functioning at a project-engineer/project-manager level).
- Ability to independently design structural systems and perform structural engineering calculations.
- Experience managing multiple structural projects, coordinating deliverables, and supporting construction administration.
- Experience with structural design across multiple materials, ideally including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
- Strong understanding of applicable NYC and New York State building codes.
- Comfort meeting directly with clients and coordinating with architects, MEP engineers, and contractors.
- Experience performing site visits/field investigations and supervising/mentoring junior engineers and drafting/design staff.
Salary: $80,000 - $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
