Description

In this Tool and Die Maker opportunity in the Elk Grove Village, IL area, you’ll build complex CNC setups, dial in first-piece quality, and run production with minimal supervision.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Tool and Die Maker position include:
- Minimum 5 years of CNC setup experience in a precision machining, job shop, or contract manufacturing environment
- Plan and execute complex CNC setups independently on milling and/or turning equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings including GD&T, surface finish callouts, and tolerance interpretation
- Select tooling, inserts, holders, and workholding fixtures; establish offsets and verify against print requirements
- Edit or create CNC programs at the control (conversational or G-code)
- Perform first-piece inspection and in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, bore gages, thread gages, and other tools
- Operate CNC equipment to blueprint specifications while monitoring tool wear, chatter, and surface finish
- Follow ISO 9001:2015 / AS9100D QMS requirements, maintain 5S standards, and comply with all safety requirements
Salary: $30–$50/hour
