A high-end design-build studio in Maybrook, NY is seeking a Structural/Millwork Engineer to help create one-of-a-kind indoor environments that combine structural engineering, custom millwork, and architectural detailing. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Structural/Millwork Engineer position include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering required, with 5+ years of structural engineering experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of wood framing, steel connections, mixed-material assemblies, and millwork engineering.
- Provide structural validation, calculations, drawings, and precise construction documentation for custom indoor structures and specialty installations.
- Collaborate on-site with designers, drafters, fabricators, and installation teams to ensure feasibility, safety, and structural integrity.
- Create and support millwork shop drawings while serving as a technical engineering expert for custom fabrication.
- Conduct on-site assessments, measurements, and inspections during design and installation phases.
- Troubleshoot structural challenges and develop practical, fabrication-friendly solutions for unique custom builds.
- PE license in New York, SketchUp experience, child-safe construction knowledge, and vendor management experience are pluses.
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
