Build your future advancing planetary exploration with mission-critical avionics engineering in Hawthorne, California, where your work directly supports reliable rover systems. In this Lead FPGA Engineer opportunity, you’ll help define and deliver FPGA RTL architectures and verification that power digital computing across rover platforms.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Lead FPGA Engineer position include:
- 10+ years of experience in FPGA RTL architecture, development, verification, deployment, and maintenance; 2+ years managing direct reports.
- Own and define vehicle system FPGA-related architectures, standards, practices, processes, and tools.
- Develop system digital computing architectures and requirements, including HW/SW interface definition between fabric logic and processing subsystems.
- Lead the FPGA Engineering team of 3+ people in the development and delivery of FPGA RTL design and verification.
- Own unit-level RTL development from blank sheet to flight for Microsemi, Xilinx, or other FPGA/SoC devices using Verilog or VHDL.
- Perform design verification including simulations, test benches, timing analysis, and hardware testing.
- Lead design reviews, demonstrate requirement traceability, and create documentation for FPGA operation and interfacing.
- Lead and participate in test campaigns spanning unit manual tests, unit automated tests, and system-level tests.
Salary: $169K-$190K+ per year, commensurate with experience.
