A growing MEP engineering firm in the Westchase area of Houston, TX is seeking an Electrical Drafter to support its electrical department on projects that keep buildings fully operational, from lighting and receptacles to low-voltage systems, security, data, internet, and wireless access points. Qualifications and responsibilities for this Electrical Drafter position include:
- 1+ year of MEP drafting experience with a desire to build a career in an MEP engineering office.
- Certified CAD training program or technical/associate degree in engineering preferred.
- Create precise, detailed drawings and project documents from information provided by project managers and engineers.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, Bluebeam Revu, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Set up new projects using AutoCAD sheet set manager, template files, dynamic referencing, and coordinated X-refs.
- Coordinate with clients and outside design team members on drafting standards and file exchanges.
- Assist with electrical design elements including lighting, receptacles, security cameras, gate access keypads, low-voltage data, internet, and wireless access points.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Salary: $25 - $30 per hour, commensurate with experience.
