A leading defense engineering and manufacturing company in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Conventional Machinist to join its precision manufacturing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-tolerance fiberglass and metal components used in military-grade equipment, aircraft, and submarine applications while supporting critical defense and aerospace projects.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Conventional Machinist position include:
• Minimum 5 years of conventional machining experience, including fiberglass or similar composite materials.
• Operate large industrial planers, lathes, mills, grinders, drill presses, and other conventional machining equipment.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications for military applications.
• Machine fiberglass and metal components to precise tolerances while meeting quality and safety standards.
• Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Safely handle fiberglass materials, sheets, rods, laminates, and other materials while following PPE requirements.
• Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on machinery.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Salary: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour, commensurate with experience.
