Step into a fast-paced sheet metal and ductwork environment where your 3D coordination skills directly support commercial and industrial projects. In this CAD Designer / Mechanical CAD Detailer opportunity, you’ll work in the Hartford area at a shop-and-field operation focused on coordinated ductwork fabrication and installation.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this CAD Drafter position include:
- Demonstrated ability to independently read engineering drawings and turn them into coordinated 3D shop drawings.
- Working proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit (minimal training capacity).
- Interpret engineering drawings and develop accurate mechanical layouts.
- Produce 3D shop drawings using AutoCAD and Revit.
- Coordinate ductwork layouts with other construction trades to identify and resolve conflicts.
- Support fabrication and installation teams with usable drawings.
- Commercial or industrial construction mechanical drafting/detailing experience is strongly preferred.
- Ductwork/HVAC ductwork or sheet metal detailing experience is a significant advantage.
Salary: $55,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience
Benefits: 401(k) with 100% match on the first 3% contributed, plus 50% on the next 2%; health insurance with the company paying approximately 80% of the employee premium (dependent coverage is primarily employee-paid with a small company contribution); time off is negotiable.
