Join a well-established heavy civil construction firm with more than 26 years of success delivering major infrastructure projects throughout New York City. This Buyer opportunity is based in Bronx, NY, and offers the chance to play a vital role in high-impact projects valued from $20M to $100M+ while working with a respected team known for its strong NYC presence and large-scale civil expertise.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Buyer position include:
• 2+ years of buying or procurement experience in heavy civil construction
• Strong knowledge of heavy civil materials, equipment, and subcontractor scopes
• Source and purchase materials such as concrete, rebar, steel, aggregates, pipe, utilities, asphalt, and precast
• Procure equipment rentals and subcontracted services for project needs
• Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor bids, pricing, terms, and delivery schedules
• Review drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to support accurate purchasing and estimating
• Coordinate with project teams and field staff to track and expedite deliveries to job sites
• Maintain procurement records, bid tabs, purchase orders, subcontract agreements, and support cost control efforts
Salary: $95,000 - $120,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including PTO starting at 10 days and increasing up to 15 days annually, 401(k) eligibility after 90 days with a 3% match, an additional cash balance/profit-sharing plan after 1 year, medical coverage through Cigna with the company paying approximately 70% to 80%, dental and vision coverage through United, benefits beginning after approximately 60 days, potential vehicle allowance, gas card, and EZ-Pass on a case-by-case basis, and possible relocation assistance for strong candidates.
