Are you an experienced commercial construction sales professional ready to make a major impact with a rapidly growing company? We are seeking a Commercial Construction Sales Manager in Melrose Park, IL, to join an established architectural metals and building-envelope contractor with ambitious plans to grow from $10 million to $40 million in annual revenue! This exciting opportunity offers direct access to the company president, established general contractor relationships, and the chance to build and lead your own sales department while working with a tight-knit team known for its collaborative culture and low employee turnover.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Commercial Construction Sales Manager position include:
- Strong commercial construction experience in general contracting, architectural metals, specialty subcontracting, commercial roofing, or building-envelope systems; residential-only experience is not applicable.
- Proven relationships with commercial general contractors (GCs), preferably throughout the Chicagoland market, and a demonstrated ability to secure and close construction projects.
- Experience preparing construction proposals, negotiating contracts, managing sales opportunities, and coordinating with estimating and operations teams.
- Working knowledge of Procore and general contractor project management platforms; familiarity with CompanyCam, Microsoft Word, and Excel preferred.
- Excellent communication, relationship management, negotiation, and organizational skills; previous sales management experience is a plus.
- Develop and strengthen GC relationships, identify upcoming commercial construction opportunities, and manage projects through proposal development, negotiations, and contract execution.
- Collaborate with estimators and company leadership to pursue profitable projects involving architectural sheet metal, metal wall panels, commercial roofing, and other building-envelope systems, including data centers.
- Attend local client meetings and industry events, support strategic growth initiatives, and help establish sales processes with the potential to build and manage a sales team; must be available to work onsite Monday through Friday, approximately 7 AM–3 PM.
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 per year, commensurate with experience. Additional compensation includes commissions, performance bonuses, a signing bonus, and a car allowance, with salary flexibility for exceptional candidates.
