This Senior Automation And Controls Engineer opportunity is based in Chicago, IL, with support for facilities nationwide and a mission-driven focus on regulatory compliance and operational excellence.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Automation And Controls Engineer position include:
- 7+ years of industrial automation experience in manufacturing or process environments.
- Hands-on PLC programming experience (Allen-Bradley/Rockwell or other) and strong troubleshooting/root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk, Ignition, or similar) and industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, OPC).
- Experience with automated packaging systems (filling, labeling, vision inspection) and developing/reviewing electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics.
- Ability to travel 50% or more to U.S. facilities.
- Design, program, and maintain PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems for extraction, distillation, formulation, packaging, and building/environmental control systems.
- Partner with Operations, Engineering, and Quality to meet performance and compliance requirements; support FAT/SAT, commissioning, startup, and applicable IQ/OQ/PQ validation.
- Drive standardization of controls platforms/architectures across sites and support capital project automation scope, vendors, timelines, and budgets.
Salary: $110,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
