We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager – Precision Grinding, Machining & Thermal Spray in Englewood, CO, to join a family-owned manufacturing company with a loyal customer base and exciting growth potential! Qualifications and responsibilities for this Operations Manager – Precision Grinding, Machining & Thermal Spray position include:
- Minimum 5 years of experience managing hourly manufacturing employees with direct reports in a precision machine shop or manufacturing plant, including performance reviews, written corrective actions, and employee discipline.
- Hands-on experience with manual and CNC OD/ID cylindrical grinding, including holding tenths-level tolerances and using micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM inspection equipment.
- Strong knowledge of manual and CNC lathes, including machine setups, tooling selection, troubleshooting, and first-piece inspection.
- Experience with ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality management systems, including nonconformance reports, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Proficiency with ERP-based production scheduling in high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments; JobBOSS or JobBOSS2 experience preferred.
- Lead daily operations across precision machining, grinding, and thermal spray departments, overseeing approximately 11 shop-floor employees and the Thermal Spray Coating Manager.
- Manage production schedules, work-in-process priorities, labor utilization, equipment maintenance, quality control, employee training, cross-training, and workplace safety.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and cycle times while improving on-time delivery; experience with thermal spray coatings, hard-material grinding, diamond/CBN wheels, or Lean/5S practices is a plus.
Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
