Description
Work on high-impact sewer and water repair projects across New York City while supporting a collaborative accounting team in Queens. In this Construction Accounting Specialist opportunity, you’ll partner closely with the Controller to keep day-to-day financial operations running smoothly—especially across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bookkeeping.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Construction Accounting Specialist position include:
- Relevant AR/AP and general accounting experience; construction accounting, union payroll, certified payroll, and maintaining books preferred (minimum experience and education requirements to confirm).
- Support accounts payable by reviewing and entering vendor invoices, maintaining records, and assisting with payment preparation.
- Support accounts receivable through customer invoicing, payment posting, and tracking outstanding balances.
- Assist with bookkeeping and maintaining accurate, organized accounting records.
- Help reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and prepare supporting documentation for the Controller.
- Assist with month-end accounting activities and financial reporting.
- Support union and certified payroll documentation, as needed.
- Enter and maintain accounting information in Sage; Sage experience preferred (previous intake identified Sage 100).
Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 annually.
