Build your future with a rapidly expanding C-9 licensed drywall subcontractor making a real impact across San Diego-area commercial and residential projects. In this Drywall Estimator / Department Lead opportunity, you’ll help shape estimating workflows, influence pricing, and grow into leadership as the team scales.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Drywall Estimator / Department Lead position include:
- At least five years of direct commercial or residential drywall estimating experience with a proven track record of winning profitable bids.
- Lead and manage drywall estimating operations from start to finish, establishing standard operating procedures and best practices.
- Analyze project plans, digital takeoffs, specifications, and scope requirements to prepare accurate, competitive, and timely drywall cost estimates.
- Isolate relevant scope from plans and specifications, including framing, drywall, and T-bar estimating.
- Send out bid packages, identify profitable opportunities, and win new work to expand the footprint.
- Recommend strategic pricing models, markup, and profit percentages to maximize bid win rates while protecting profitability.
- Cultivate strong relationships with local General Contractors, material suppliers, and vendors.
- Use estimating/takeoff tools such as PlanHub Takeoff, ConstructConnect, BuildingConnected, or comparable platforms to support high-volume estimating independently.
Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
