Based in a Boston suburb, this Environmental Acoustical Consultant opportunity gives you the chance to lead technical work that shapes award-winning outcomes for universities, corporations, and other institutions.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Environmental Acoustical Consultant position include:
- Minimum ten years’ experience in acoustic consulting with an emphasis on environmental sound evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or physics required; Master’s degree preferred; acoustics specialization/coursework preferred.
- Professional certification such as INCE Board Certification or P.E. preferred.
- Provide collaborative guidance and leadership within the environmental acoustics team.
- Design and engineer acoustic solutions, including noise/vibration monitoring, computer noise modeling, and technical reporting.
- Attend client meetings with engineers, architects, and owners; present at public meetings and appear as expert witness as needed.
- Mentor junior staff and lead business development efforts including proposal writing and project scoping.
- Analyze data and modeling results using Microsoft Excel, GIS, and Cadna/A; interpret noise regulations, building codes, and relevant test standards.
Salary: $150,000 - $160,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Medical: 100% of employee premiums covered; dental and vision; 401(k): profitability-based match/contribution with baseline approximately 7%; PTO: 17 days initially, increasing with tenure.
