Build your future with a fast-growing manufacturer creating custom dredging equipment in Reserve, Louisiana—where your mechanical design expertise directly shapes real-world projects from concept through fabrication. Senior Mechanical Project Design Engineer is an on-site, hands-on role in a design center adjacent to manufacturing, partnering closely with production teams to deliver engineered dredging systems.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Senior Mechanical Project Design Engineer position include:
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in industrial, manufacturing, or heavy equipment environments.
- Mechanical Engineering degree required; project management/project leadership experience required.
- Strong 2D and 3D CAD experience, including AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (SolidWorks acceptable if transitioning to Inventor).
- Comfort with mechanical, piping, and structural design for heavy industrial equipment.
- Ability to work directly with designers and assist junior designers, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
- Experience reviewing engineering calculations, drawings, and vendor documentation.
- Willingness to work on-site in Reserve, LA, including potential 40+ hour weeks during project deadlines.
- PE license preferred; marine equipment experience is a plus.
Salary: $125,000 - $150,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: Quarterly bonus based on company financial performance and safety metrics; medical, dental & vision with the company paying a significant portion of premiums (cost varies by plan and family coverage); 401(k) with a company match of $0.50 on the dollar up to 6%; 3 weeks PTO beginning to accrue on the date of hire; benefits eligibility begins the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
