Description
Take your CAD skills to a fast-growing surveying and civil engineering team serving Long Island and New York City, with projects that demand precision and real-world impact. This Survey CAD Technician opportunity is based in Plainview, NY, fully onsite, supporting boundary, topographic, construction, subdivision, and site-planning work.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Survey CAD Technician position include:
- 1–3+ years of AutoCAD drafting experience for land surveying or civil engineering projects (entry-level candidates with strong relevant education and internships will be considered).
- Process field data and prepare detailed survey drawings, boundary plats, topographic maps, ALTA/NSPS surveys, subdivision maps, and site plans in AutoCAD (Civil 3D preferred).
- Create and maintain 3D models, point clouds, and flood elevation certificates when required.
- Revise and update drawings based on client, surveyor, or municipal feedback.
- Ensure deliverables meet New York State surveying standards, local codes, and company quality requirements.
- Collaborate closely with licensed surveyors, engineers, and project managers to deliver projects on time.
- Perform deed research and record searches as needed to support drafting tasks.
- Maintain organized project files and assist with internal quality control reviews.
Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience; $100,000 - $135,000 for candidates with a PLS license.
