Description
A Structural Engineer opportunity is now available in Lewis Center, Ohio, with a well-established engineering firm specializing in material handling systems for industrial and mining applications. This is an exciting chance to step into a lead-level role with strong advancement potential, low turnover, and the opportunity to design major steel support structures for bulk material handling conveyors.
Qualifications and responsibilities for this Structural Engineer position include:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required, preferably in Ohio, with the ability to obtain additional licensure valued.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering with 5+ years of structural engineering experience.
- Design steel support structures for bulk material handling conveyors and associated industrial structures.
- Perform structural calculations using STAAD, Excel, AutoCAD, similar software, and hand calculations.
- Check structural calculations and designs completed by other engineers and designers.
- Coordinate closely with mechanical engineers on layouts, underbody design, and support structures.
- Estimate steel weights, drafting hours, and provide support for proposals and project planning.
- Apply knowledge of AISC, ACI, ASCE 7, IBC, MSHA/OSHA standards, steel detailing, and shop drawings.
Salary: $75,000 - $130,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
Benefits: This full-time, permanent, direct-hire position offers great benefits including half-paid medical insurance for the employee and family, dental coverage at $500 per year, 9 paid holidays, two weeks of vacation, three weeks of vacation after 5 years, profit sharing up to 4% through SEP, negotiable PTO, flexible scheduling, professional development support, and potential relocation assistance on a case-by-case basis.
